About Harstad Hockey
Background
I spent the majority of my childhood growing up in Minnesota and Wisconsin. At the age of 17, I entered the USHL to play for the Green Bay Gamblers. During that time I was drafted into the NHL by the Winnipeg Jets.

Prior to fulfilling my commitment to the Jets, I attended Colorado College continuing my hockey career and obtaining an economics degree.

College ended and I was onward to fulfill my NHL commitment in Winnipeg, Canada. I entered their organization and began my professional hockey career. Over the course of my 6 year professional career I played in over 230+ games.

Since my playing days have come to an end I am beyond excited and driven to usher along my knowledge, skills and techniques I've acquired over my 28+ year hockey journey. Things I wish I would have know as a young developing hockey player will now be passed along to give the next generation an edge up on the competition.

Mission Statement
To help the next generation of hockey players achieve their goals and dreams by instilling in them the correct skills and mindset to get there.

In todays age there is so much information floating around it can be hard to understand what to focus on and what will get you to the higher levels of hockey. That is where I come in. I've been in the trenches and have traveled the hockey path with tremendous success and also tremendous failure. As we get older and wiser we understand that failure is a key part of learning and often teaches us the most. My dream of playing in the NHL came up just short, but because of that failure I have spent countless amounts of time analyzing why? You and or your upcoming hockey players will still fail yes. Failure/risk should not be frowned upon. But if we can guide & reduce some major failures and negative habits, I believe that can have a massive upside trajectory for any ambitious hockey player. My goal is to be that mentor & coach I wish I had growing up. Without a doubt it would have had a massive impact on my life and I strongly believe it would have been the missing piece to achieve my NHL dreams. So many of us, and I am guilty of this as well, have trouble asking for help. The hockey community is a tight knit group. Its ok to ask for help. I started Harstad Hockey because I love hockey and I enjoy helping others. As I was hungry for success when I was playing I am now hungry to see the next generation of Harstad Hockey athletes achieve success both on and off the ice. High character, smart, skillful, and confident hockey is the brand of players I strive to create.
